It Takes A Village

It truly took a village for A Home to buy and prepare the Snapfinger Road house. Huge thanks go to the following donors

Bobbie Wrenn Banks and David Root

Nancy Barrow

Carol Bartlett

Catherine Carter

Genia and Kip Duchon

Becky and David Evans

Shelly Fine

Kathleen Flynn

Carolyn Godfrey

Susie Jacobs

Barbara Jaffe

Jack Kittle and Annie Godfrey

Marcia and Dan Klenbort.

Eve Miller

Deedee and Pat Murphy

Charlotte and Pete Pfeiffer

Nancy Porteous and David Godfrey

Mary Ann and Peter Schneider

Anne and Jim Topple

And one anonymous donor

In-kind donors were also part of that village, starting with Stacy Waggoner of Keller Williams Realty. Stacy donated hours of her time helping other A Home volunteers identify and tour potential houses; she then donated her portion of the realtor fee to A Home. Taylor Owens, owner of Comprehensive Home Inspection, donated the house inspection. Amelia Godfrey donated an energy audit. The DeKalb Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity led by Travis Amsterdam, Christopher Addison, Thomas Billups, and Joshua Williams donated supplies and time to a workday in which they prepared the house for our first residents. Joshua’s father and Thomas also donated their companies’ resources in picking up yard and house debris. Peter Schneider donated his time to build beautiful porch railings for the front porch. In addition to these major donations, numerous individuals gave furniture, supplies, and time to improve and maintain our house. The Board is grateful to all of these wonderful people.
