Unhoused Voices Shared With DeKalb County Consultants

As DeKalb County makes plans for the DeKalb Housing Plan, Claratel Behavioral health is leading the Unhoused Support and Services Plan Development along with consultants from InTelegy. On June 24, Greg White collaborated with Carole Cantore Dotson, CEO/Managing Partner to create a Lived Experience focus group. The focus group included thirteen individuals of all ages that are unhoused and participants shared wonderful feedback with consultants. Patrons shared barriers from severe weather, storage challenges, shower challenges, transportation, communication among service providers and restroom challenges.  A Home For Everyone In DeKalb advocates that those individuals who have lived experience get the opportunity to share experiences with decision makers.

Commissioner Chakira Johnson is supporting A Home For Everyone In DeKalb with $30,000 to support rapid rehousing efforts. Gregory White, Executive Director recently met with Commissioner Chakira Johnson to forge the relationship.
